Chinedu Ikedieze popularly known as Aki was born on the 12th of December 1977, to Mr and Mrs Michael Ikedieze Ogbonna in Iluoma Nzeakoli, Bende, Abia State.

As a child, Chinedu wanted to be either a doctor or a lawyer, but that narrative changed after he joined his secondary school’s drama society, and developed an interest in acting.

Chinedu Ikedieze popularly known as Aki is an award-winning Nollywood Actor, a comedian and an entrepreneur who gained popularity, and breakthrough in the industry after the movie Aki ni Ukwa.

He graduated from Institute of Management & Technology (IMT), Enugu State were he studied mass communication.

His passion for acting led him to join the Institute’s theater group. Chinedu was an active member of the group were he took part in several large-scale productions.

As a wise and smart guy, he saw it as an opportunity and utilized it by making industry contacts and honing his craft.

After his studies at IMT, he started auditioning for movie roles. After several attempts, he was eventually chosen to act a minor role in the movie ‘Evil Men’ in 1998.

The producers of the movie were pleased with his acting. As a result, they continued giving him roles in subsequent movies.

He got his big break and rose to limelight in 2002 when he acted as Aki in the movie Aki na Ukwa.

Since then, the name Aki has stuck as a household name. Presently, Chinedu Ikedieze is one of the most recognized faces in Nollywood, as his movies are enjoyed by everyone, regardless of age.

He credits his rise to limelight in the Nollywood industry to the marketer and producer of the Aki na Ukwa movie – late Chukwuka Emelionwu aka Kasvid. Asides acting, Chinedu Ikedieze also has businesses in the media, fashion, branding/graphics, and tourism industry.

Chinedu’s desire to be one of the best in the industry led him to enrol at the New York Film Academy (NYFA) in 2004.

Chinedu Ikedieze has featured in many movies like: Spanner, Okwu na uka, Aka Gum, Aki na Ukwa, The Tom and Jerry, The Catechist, The American Boys Kizzito, School Dropouts, Pipiro, Lagos Boys, Family Crisis, Charge and Bail, Back from America, Akpu-Nku, 2 Rats among others.

Chinedu Ikedieze has received many Awards and recognition’s. They includes: Filmmakers Association of Nigeria (FAN) Award. Lifetime Achievement Award at the Africa Movie Awards in 2007. Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Dr Goodluck Ebere Jonathan, honoured him as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2010.
Miami Dade County office of the Mayor and the County Commissioners honoured Chinedu Ikedieze as a Distinguished Visitor to the City of Miami, Florida in 2018
