Redeployment Hits Imo Govt House Workers Due To Alleged Information Leak

Imo State Government House

In what seems to be a move to curtail the constant leakage of vital information as well as suspicion of the rank and file from within the Government House Owerri, a massive redeployment of staff of Imo State Government House has been effected.

This is happening barely 100 days after the swearing-in of Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma following the removal of Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha as governor of the state.

It was further revealed that transfers are being carried out indiscriminately with about three hundred staff cutting across all categories affected by the exercise which according to sources close to government is expected to bring a new lease of life to Douglas House following recent leakage of confidential information leading to massive media attacks from main opposition party PDP.

Speaking under anonymity, some of the affected civil servants said a circular from the Office of the Head of Civil Service of Imo state, revealed that hundreds of staff from Service Grade Level SGL 07-14 and even security workers were affected by the redeployment.

The directive was expected to be complied with on or before Friday, May 8.

We further gathered that most workers at the Imo State Secretariat particularly those employed by Gov Rochas Okorocha’s administration were redeployed to fill vacant positions at the 27 local government and some designated ministries.
