An early morning fierce fire outbreak has engulfed the popular Ogbogonogo market, Asaba, Delta State capital, destroying buildings and goods worth millions of naira.

Though the cause of the inferno is unknown as at press time, sources said it could have resulted from a power surge.

Anaedoonline.com reports the inferno resulted in the loss of several properties valued at millions of naira.

As at the time of filing this report, the Delta State Fire Service were still on ground, fighting to put off the inferno while affected traders are trying to salvage what they can of their belongings from the raging Inferno.
