The Minister of State, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu has issued a certificate of recognition and appreciation to 25 NYSC Corps Members for their outstanding contributions towards the fight against the effects of Corona virus (COVID-19).
This was made known during the presentation of certificate to the outstanding corps members yesterday in Abuja.
According to the minister who was represented by the Acting Executive Secretary the FCT Social Development Secretariat, Dilichukwu Onyedima, she stated that the corps members performed excellently well during this COVID 19 as they were able to produce face mask, hand sanitizers and hand wash and they acquired a lot of skills and gave their best to the society.
“We are doing this to appreciate them and whatever they have done will help them to become good citizens of Nigeria. We are proud of them and we want them to keep the good work up and I pray that other youths will continue just like these corps members did.”
Similarly, NYSC FCT Coordinator, Hajiya Walida Siddique Isa noted that the corps members were trained on so many skills acquisition and during this pandemic some of them around Abuja came around and produced about ten thousand branded facemasks, hand sanitizers and liquid hand wash.
Isa said, “it may interest you to know that the Standard Organisation Of Nigeria (SON) has given us approval to produce these items and any organization or corporate individual that wants us to produce branded facemasks, hand sanitizers or hand wash, we will be readily available no matter the quantity needed.”
