Edo Crisis: Ogbeide-Ihama, PDP, Others Agree To Settle Out Of Court

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) its aspirant, Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama and others have agreed to settle out of court ahead of Edo 2020 election.

Anaedoonline.com reports that all the parties involved in the Edo PDP governorship primary election case presented before Port Harcourt division of the Federal High Court agreed to go for an out of court settlement on Wednesday.

The development is coming after Ogbeide-Ihama secured a court order on Monday, restraining the Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki, from participating in the primary election.

At the resumed hearing of the matter today, Firdinald Orbih, the Lead Counsel to the Plaintiff, told the court that they have served all the parties to the suit as ordered by the court the originating summons and also published the order in two national newspapers.

The Lead Counsel to the Plaintiff, however, told the Port Harcourt division of the Federal High Court that the parties have opted for out of court settlement.

In response, all the counsel to the defendants told the court that they have no objection to the application for out of court settlement.

After hearing their prayers, the presiding judge, Justice Emmanuel Obile granted the application and stood down the matter for 12.30 pm to allow them to reach an accord.
