Again Nigerian Embassy In Jakarta Attacked, FG Reacts

The minister in a series of tweets on Friday, June 26 via his verified account on the microblogging site, Twitter, disclosed that the embassy was attacked by some yet to be identified individuals who are Nigerians.

Nigeria’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and former Deputy Director-General, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Mr Geoffrey Onyeoma, has condemned a recent attack by Nigerian citizens on the Nigerian Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia.

FG Summons Ghana Envoy Over Demolished Nigerian High Commission

The minister in a series of tweets on Friday, June 26 via his verified account on the microblogging site, Twitter, disclosed that the embassy was attacked by some yet to be identified individuals who are Nigerians.

Onyeoma described the act as disgraceful and criminal, noted that authorities will ensure that the perpetrators are identified and made to face the law.

He tweeted, “Absolutely deplorable and disgraceful criminal behaviour by Nigerian hooligans who without justification attacked the Nigerian Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia today.”

Nigerian High Commission In Ghana: FG Condemns Attacks

“Every effort will be made to identify them and see they are severely punished. Totally unacceptable behaviour.

However, Some armed men invaded the Nigerian high commission in Accra, Ghana, on Friday, destroying some apartments under construction.

The affected buildings were reportedly being constructed to house staff and visitors. A Ghanaian businessman had accused the Embassy of encroaching on his land.

Ghana Govt Apologizes To Nigeria, Officials Visit High Commission

He was said to have visited the place last week, presenting evidence that he is the real owner of the land.

However, he reportedly returned to the site on Friday in the company of armed men who supervised the demolition of the Embassy.
