Nnewi: Agboedo Market Chairman, Dennis Ikegwuonu Marks One Year In Office

– Unveils Official Vehicle

The Chairman of Agbo-Edo Market Motor Spare Parts Dealers Association (AMPSDA), Mr Dennis Ikegwuonu (Onyeisi) has reassured of his commitment towards improving the welfare of traders in Agboedo Market, Nnewi.

He made this known today, Sunday, 5th July 2020, while marking his first in year office as the Chairman of Agbo-Edo Market Motor Spare Parts Dealers Association (AMPSDA).

The brief anniversary celebration which held in the residence of Chairman had the presence of the executive members of the market, also attracted a few traders, in keeping to Covid-19 protocols.

Speaking during the anniversary celebration, Mr Dennis Ikegwuonu expressed his gratitude to God for giving him the enabling grace and wisdom in piloting the affairs of the market.

While appreciating the traders for their support since he assumed office, he reassured of his desire towards improving the welfare of the traders, especially in the area of providing basic amenities.

Reeling out his achievements, Mr Dennis Ikegwuonu noted that his administration has achieved a lot of giant strides in the last one year, which includes, facilitating the installation of industrial meter in the Market, ending the pollution and noise caused by over three thousand (3000) generators in the market through the purchase of 330KVA giant power plant to ensure steady power supply in the market.

Still, on his achievements, he said that his administration has been able to interlock the whole market, making the market the first to achieve such feat in Anambra State.

Speaking further on his achievement, he said, “My administration also built a modern toilet for the use of both traders and customers of the market, I built the first office for the market which has been commissioned and put into use, Also, I have reorganised the security outfit of the market for better service”

“We have also purchased the official vehicle for the office of the Chairman of the Market, in fact, we have achieved a lot in the last one year without taxing or levying traders”

Promising that the remaining three (3) years of his administration will be laden with success, he appealed to the government to provide modern fire fighting equipment
for the market and also build a borehole to enable water supply for the use of traders.

Speaking, the Assistant Secretary of the Market, Mr Ejike Ndubuisi while speaking to Anaedonline.com shortly after the anniversary celebration said that the current leadership of the market is committed to taking the market to the next level.

According to him, in the remaining years of their administration, the administration will keep working in making such that the market is conducive for business activities.

He appealed to government to construct inner roads leading to the market and also install street lights for better security of the market.
