Super Eagles Player Samuel Kalu Tests Positive For COVID-19

Bordeaux and Super Eagles player forward, Samuel Kalu has tested positive for Coronavirus. AFP reports that Kalu who has been in quarantine in France, was the unnamed player announced by the club to have contracted COVID-19 on July 6

He has reportedly missed the team’s training sessions since the opening of camp and might be left out of some of the club’s pre-season games.

According to report, he is expected to rejoin the rest of the squad on July 27, if his test returns negative. This is coming after Super Eagles player and Genk striker, Paul Onuachu recovered from the disease.

Samuel Kalu was the latest Nigeria star to be linked with Turkish champions Galatasaray.

According to Futbol Arena quoting the French media, the Bordeaux winger, 22, is now on the radar of the Istanbul giants.

Kalu joined Bordeaux in 2018 and his contract is till 2023.

This past season, which was aborted by the Coronavirus Pandemic, the former KAA Gent star scored a goal and provided an assist for Bordeaux.

Recent reports out of Turkey have suggested Bordeaux are willing to let Kalu as he has failed to justify his big-money move from Belgium in part because of injury problems.

In recent times, Super Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa and KV Kortrijk striker Terem Moffi have been linked with ‘Gala’, who have Henry Onyekuru on loan from AS Monaco.
