Anambra State Govt Saves Mentally Challenged Mother And Child In Nnewi (Photos)

Anambra State ministry of Women and Children Affairs, July 30th, 2020, at Amuko Junction, Nnewi, rescued a mentally challenged mother and her six year old son.

Following series of posts by concerned citizens on social media, pleading for the government to intervene on behalf of the woman and her two children was yesterday overpowered by some members of the women affairs ministry who came to rescue her and her child.

Story monitored closely by Anaedoonline.ng, the woman and her child who roam along Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi, were successfully rescued after a frantic search and several visits to Nnewi by the social welfare department of ministry of Women and Children Affairs.

The Honourable Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezu, who personally interviewed the woman that claimed she is a native of Ichi Nnewi, Nnewi North LGA, ordered for immediate transfer of the pair to government owned facility where they will be cared for, until they are certified okay to be reunited with their family and integrated back into the society.
