Okorocha And Uzodinma

Former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, has reacted to a statement credited to Governor Hope Uzodinma, claiming that he asked Uzodinma to dissolve the investigative probe panels, set up by the administration of Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha to probe him.

The denial was contained in a statement issued by Okorocha’s spokesperson, Mr. Onwuasoanya FCC Jones.

Uzodinma said Okorocha was angry with him for ignoring his request to dissolve the panel probing his administration.

Uzodinma claimed, that Okorocha made the request to make way for his 2023 presidential ambition. Jones Onwuasanaya, said Okorocha only requested a fair hearing from an impartial panel.

Okorocha further added that he made the request because he feared he would not get justice, from the current panel which was reportedly dominated by Peoples Democratic Party members.

Okorocha went further to point out, that his request was in no way connected to his ambition to run for the presidency in 2023 as claimed by the governor.

The statement which reads in parts, “Owelle utilized his mandate judiciously and kept to his covenant with God and man, in his eight years as the governor of Imo State.

“What Okorocha has always requested, for which he has gone to court is that impartial panels should be constituted to probe his stewardship and not the present situation, where key stakeholders of the opposition People’s Democratic Party constitute 95 percent of the membership of the panels probing him.
