Kwara State Protest: Undergraduates Demands School Reopening

A protest was staged on Wednesday, August 19, by undergraduates in Kwara state, requesting for the reopening of higher institutions in the state.

Since March, Higher Institutions in Nigeria have been shut down by the government as part of measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

Earlier on, the government had announced the opening of major public places including the airports, markets, etc, the protesters argued that if those places can be reopened, their schools should also be reopened. They marched to the front of the government house in Ilorin.

They were seen carrying different placards with different inscriptions such as ”Adamu Save Our Education’, Re-open Polytechnic Now’.
