El-Rufai Receives Sultan 24 hours After Visit From Sanusi

The Sultan of Sokoto HRH Sa’ad Abubakar III visited Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state, barely 24 hours after the former Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi met with the state leader.

According to reports, the Sultan on Monday, August 24, arrived around 12:20 pm in a black SUV at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House.

The monarch upon his arrival was received by officials including Balarabe Abbas, the secretary to the state government, Muhammad Sani Dattijo the chief of staff, and Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna state commissioner internal security and home affairs.

The Kaduna state commissioner local government and chieftaincy affair, Jafaru Sani Ibrahim, was also part of the officials that received the Sultan.

He was ushered into the government house to meet with the Kaduna state governor in his personal office. At the time of this report, details of the Sultan’s visit has not been made available yet.

Earlier, Anaedoonline.ng reported that barely five months after he was given a marching order as the Emir of Kano state, Muhammadu Sanusi II on Sunday, August 23, returned to the north.

The former emir arrived Kaduna state amid fanfare as a crowd of supporters joined his motorcade in euphoria as he headed to the Kaduna state government house.

The arrival of the former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) was announced by Governor El-Rufai on his Twitter page.

The ex-emir on Sunday, August 23, said the decision of the NBA was sad for the freedom of speech in Nigeria. He spoke on the issue after a meeting he had with El-Rufai at the government house.

In other news, the reason behind the disinvitation of Governor El-Rufai as a speaker in one of the panel sessions at the NBA conference has been revealed by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chinonye Obiagwu.

Recall that there was pressure from some lawyers who said they will not attend the conference if the invitation of the Kano state governor stands.
