On Thursday night, Nigerians experience a Twitter shutdown. It led to speculations the government had clamped down on the social media app amid the #EndSARS online campaign.

What is, however, noticeable is that the #EndSARS hashtag now has an emoji, with the country’s green and white colours.

Twitter’s CEO, Jack Dorsey, had endorsed the call to scrap the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) two days ago.
