Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided the latest update on Harry Maguire, Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood ahead of his side’s Premier League clash against Chelsea on Saturday evening at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer also confirmed that Jesse Lingard and Eric Bailly would not feature for the Red Devils against Frank Lampard’s side.

Solskjaer’s side defeated Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in the Champions League group stage tie in their previous clash on Tuesday.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, the Norwegian told Man United’s official website: “We’re still hoping Mason and Harry can be available in the squad. Of course, we have a training session today [Friday], so they’re going to have to go through that.

“Eric won’t be available. Jesse won’t be available so we’ll manage without them for a few weeks I think.

“Cavani might be ready for the squad as well for this weekend. He’s been training hard and been training well. I think he will be available for the weekend.”

Also, Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has given updates about the fitness of certain players, ahead of their trip to Manchester United this weekend.

The Blues, who are currently 7th with seven points face United, who beat Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain in their last two games.

Lampard, addressing his press conference on Friday afternoon, confirmed both Christian Pulisic and Thiago Silva are fit.

“Both are fine [Thiago Silva and Pulisic]. We have a pretty clean bill of health other than Kepa who has a shoulder issue and won’t travel to Manchester.

“The only other player out is Billy Gilmour. Cech is not coming [as a player],” he said.

Lampard also added that Hakim Ziyech and Edouard Mendy are examples of characters that he wants in his squad.

According to him, Ziyech is not ready for a match yet, despite being physically fit.

“We need to find ways to give Hakim minutes as best we can,” Lampard said about the Moroccan winger.
