JUST IN: INEC to Resume Voter Registration By 2021

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will resume the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in the first quarter of 2021, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu confirmed this before the senate on Wednesday during the budget defense of the commission. N1billion has been appropriated by INEC for the exercise.

Yakubu also urged the National Assembly to amend the Electoral Act to accommodate voting from diaspora as INEC works on making it a possibility.
