UCL: Ramos Scores 100th Goal For Real Madrid In 3-2 Win Over Inter

Real Madrid vs Inter Milan ended 3-2 in favour of the home side as they were made to work hard for their first Champions League win of the season.

Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos had earlier got Los Blancos’ noses in front before Lautaro Martinez and Ivan Perisic equalized. Substitute Rodrygo got the all-important winner ten minutes from time.

The match produced a lot of fireworks as the opening 15 minutes saw both teams creating several chances.

Marco Asensio was first to test Samir Handanovic in goal as the Inter Milan captain tipped his shot over the bar from an Eden Hazard’s assist.

Federico Valverde could keep his shot down minutes later. At the other end, Martinez was close to scoring after Ivan Perisic’s cross disorganized the Madrid defence before Arturo Vidal’s long-range effort brushed the side-netting.

Los Blancos finally got their noses in front as Benzema showed strength as he skipped past Handanovic to score into an empty net to make it 1-0 after 25 minutes.

Ramos headed home Real’s second from a set-piece as he marked his 100th goal for Los Merengues to make it 2-0 in the 33rd minute.

Two minutes later, Nico Barella slid in a pass to Martinez who put the ball past Thibaut Courtois to reduce the deficit to 2-1.

Antonio Conte’s side pressed forward in the second half as Perisic completed the comeback after slamming home Martinez’s headed assist to make it 2-2 in the 67th minute.

Martinez and Perisic wasted their respective chances on goal within the space of two minutes which could have put the Nerazzurri ahead with 15 minutes left to play.

Rodrygo put Real back in the lead in the 80th minute after an excellent first touch from a Vinicius Junior’s assist, before slotting the ball into the roof of the net to make it 3-2. and that was how it ended.

Madrid finally got their first Champions Legaue win under their belt after a shock defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk and a draw at Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Zinedine Zidane’s side moved to second in Group B after Moenchengladback handed Shakhtar their heaviest defeat in the competition at home following a 6-0 win.
