Benue Governor, Ortom

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has dismissed the report on alleged disappearance of manhood in the state through mystical powers, saying it is false and that the report making rounds is aimed at encouraging hatred and underdevelopment in the area.

According to NAN, the alleged claims has led to anger and destruction of property in Guma Local Government Area of the State.

The Benue State Governor who debunked the report when he visited Daudu in Guma Local Government Area, where the alleged genital disappearance occurred, explained that “there was no single confirmed case of the incident” and that the claims are “baseless and the handiwork of mischief makers.”

Ortom in his statement called on people who are affected to present themselves for physical examination. He expressed disappointments that while the people are yet to recover from the effects of the herd’s men attacks, “it was unthinkable for the youth in the area to embark on destruction of property for a nonexistent disappearance of genital organs”.

Ortom appealed to the people to report all criminal activities to the security agencies and to refrain from resorting to jungle justice.
