Barcelona have not yet found an agreement with their players over a wage deduction, according to Catalunya Radio.

The negotiations are being led by interim president, Carlos Tusquets, following the resignation of Josep Maria Bartomeu last month.

Barca have now extended the deadline on imposing a wage deduction on their squad by one week, after unsuccessful negotiations.

Talks will now progress into Wednesday, with two main points of friction: the players do not believe the deduction should be precisely the same for every player and have questioned why the B team players will be impacted by the cuts but not the basketball players.

There is a pressing urgency for Barca to drastically reduce costs by January or face bankruptcy. The LaLiga giants’ wage bill must be cut by at least 30 per cent.
