President Muhammadu Buhari will “address” a joint session of the National Assembly on Thursday, December 10, 2020. This is according to the president’s aide on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie who made the announcement on Twitter on Monday.

 

Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige has rejected the 40-man electoral committee adopted for the forthcoming election of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership. The former Governor of Anambra State dismissed the list announced on Sunday by the Ohaneze President General, Chief John Nnia Nwodo, as “being full of active practicing politicians who are card carrying members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”

 

As a meeting of the National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) holds today at the Presidential Villa, Abuja former national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has disowned separate suits instituted seeking the return of the National Working Committee under his leadership.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, Abuja, on Monday dismissed the viral videos and pictures in circulation in the social media suggesting that another #EndSARS protest was staged in the FCT earlier in day describing it as fake news.

 

The Nigerian government has ordered the reduction of pump price of petrol from N168 per litre to N162.44 per litre. Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige said the reduction would take effect from December 14, 2020. Ngige disclosed this while speaking with journalists at the end of a meeting with labour leaders which began at 9pm on Monday and ended at 1:30 am on Tuesday.

 

The Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, NGF, and Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, has said Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists fleeing from the North, have relocated to the South West. Fayemi, who is the Governor of Ekiti State, said these terrorists have taken up vices like kidnapping in the South East.
