CAF: Enyimba’s Opponent “Al Mereikh” Banned By FIFA

Ahead of the CAF champions league first leg, First round match, world soccer governing (FIFA) has banned the opponent of Nigeria’s representative Enyimba international, Al Mereikh of Sudan from signing new players, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In a statements released on Friday by the football body, Sudanese side was unable to clear the debt owing ex-Brazilian player Marcos Morae who represented them few years back.

The player was signed but failed to appear for the in throughout his stay in Sudan. FIFA said the ban will stand from now till 2022 but will terminated if Al Mereikh clear the debit before the time.

Sudanese champion will host People Elephant in the first leg of the champions league next Wednesday before playing reverse fixture in January 2021.
