Although the sponsors of the thugs are yet be known at the time of writing, rumours have it that the thugs were sponsored by one Nnewi notable politician who is not in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)

For Promise Okongwu who claimed to be in the scene of the incident, the attack was an attempt to blackmail a notable Nnewi politician who is contesting the 2021 Guber under the Platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

He alleged that the attack was sponsored by Val. Ozigbo to attract and gather public sympathy, nothing that the aspirant wants to pose as a political victim.

Although no official press release has been made by the police, a lot of Anambrains are becoming worried about what the November elections holds for the state.

At the time of writing, the Member Representing Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Hon. Engr. Chris Azubuogu and Anambra State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Publicity Secretary, Mr. Nnamdi Nwangwu has condemned the act.
