UCL: Ronaldo Set To Dump Juventus After Crashing Out To Porto

Juventus has spoken concerning Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the club after the team crashed out of the Champions League at the hands of Porto on Tuesday.

The Portuguese’s future became very uncertain following the result of the Champions League last second leg in Turin.

Juventus director Fabio Paratici said the superstar’s contract is “not an immediate issue.”

Ronaldo Suffers Shocking Defeat With Juventus

Many relied on Ronaldo to help the Old Lady overturn a 2-1 deficit from the first leg against Porto in the last 16 of the competition.

Juventus went down 1-0 down in the second leg, but Federico Chiesa restored hopes with a brace and took the contest to extra-time.

However, Sergio Oliveira scored again for the visitors leaving the Italian champions needing two more goals, one of which they got through an Adrian Rabiot header.

But time could not allow them to find another, so they won the leg, drew the tie 4-4, but lost out on away goals.

Ronaldo was left partially to blame for Juve’s woe as he was in the wall for Oliveira’s free-kick which was not especially well hit and went through his legs as he turned his back on the ball.

The 36-year-old, who was signed from Real Madrid to help the Serie A champions win the Champions League is in his third season at the club, and he is still yet to win it.

The Portugal captain has another year on his contract and while the club’s director is not ruling out an extension, he is in no rush to sort it out any time soon.

“There’s still another year of contract,,” Paratici told Sky Sports after the game.

“Cristiano’s contract renewal is not an immediate issue on the agenda, there’s time to talk about it.
