Watch The Moment Okorocha Was Crowned The Dabjekan of Sokoto

Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha was on Sunday, 14th March 2021, crowned the Dabjekan of Sokoto amid a massive crowd. Rochas who was born in Jos, Plateau State speaks fluent Hausa and had used his Rochas Foundation to boost education in the northern part of the country. The fact that Rochas is friends with the north has now been given a stamp in the northeastern town.

Rochas’ friendship with the north which has now fetched him this title is not without detractors who accused him of being originally Hausa. This, of course, is false but in today’s world where information, no matter how false, can be weaponized, these claims might have hurt Rochas politically. For now, it is not known how.

Watch the video of the conferring of the title.
