UPDATE: Kwara Gov Reviews Curfew In Erin Ile & Offa

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved the review of the curfew in Offa and Erin-Ile, a statement said on Tuesday.

The curfew period will now be between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. daily. The review is effective from Wednesday, March 24 according to the statement signed by Rafiu Ajakaye, Chief Press Secretary to the governor.

The Governor had on March 4 imposed a 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. curfew on the two towns following renewed hostilities between some people from the two communities.

“The Governor once again appeals to leaders on both sides to continue to restrain and caution their people against provocative action, and to maintain peace, while commending them and security forces for a good job so far,” the statement added.

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has named 24-year-old Adeyi Kaosarah as his Senior Special Assistant on Youth Engagement.

This was contained in a press statement on Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye.

According to the statement, the governor also appointed Hajia Fatima Jummai Audu as Special Adviser on Women Affairs.

Kaosarah, an author who is renowned for her extensive reach within the youth constituency, is a graduate of the University of Ilorin where she is a Mentor for the varsity’s empowerment beneficiaries. A youth entrepreneur, her roles entail sharing practical examples with mentees, giving mentorship on entrepreneurship, and advising on how to manage school activities with their business goal-setting, planning, and implementation.

Kaosarah is the member representing Kwara State on Northern States Governors’ Forum Committee on Youth Engagements, Priorities, and Inclusion in Governance. She was also a member of the Kwara State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on EndSARS Protest (2020).

She was Vice President of the Faculty of Agriculture Students (UNILORIN, 2018) and Vice President of the Nigerian Society for Environmental Conservation.
