The member representing Nnewi North Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor will tomorrow Saturday, 27th March 2021, declare his intention to contest for governor at the November 6th Anambra Election, flying the flag of the ruling party.
Nonso Smart would be running on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the same platform with which he was elected into the House of Assembly in 2019.
With this declaration, Ndi Anambra are promised new dawn on the horizon of the state; a promise from a man who is known for keeping his word. To everyone who has wondered if a young and worthy individual will never declare to run in this election, this is your answer.
For those who wonder if it is too soon for Hon. Okafor to run for governor, seeing that he is just two years in the House, the answer is simple: He has it in him. Barack Obama was elected into the US Senate in 2005. Two years later, he declared to run for the presidency and won, becoming the first black man in the White House.

Nonso Okafor promised Ndi Anambra that he will run an issues-based campaign, riding on the strong wings of his SMART agenda for the most populous state in the Southeast.
Ndi Anambra hold their breaths as what could be a date with history comes upon them.
A press release made available to Anaedoonline.ng by the Head, Strategic Communications, Smart Campaign Organisation, Martin Beck Nworah, stated that in the days, weeks, and months ahead, the Nonso Okafor campaign organization will engage with our people at every level of society within and outside the state.
Part of the press release reads:
“We are totally committed to the grassroots as will be evidenced by Nonso Okafor’s declaration. To him, everyone counts and this is the gospel the SMART agenda will share around our state.
“Ndi Anambra, Oge erugo!
“Let us join hands and make a governor who will have our ears, feel our pains and make our state better in all ramifications.
“Now is the time!”
The declaration would hold at Anaedo Hall, Nnewi, by 10am and it is expected to have party big shots and esteemed individuals of the state in attendance.
