The past 24 hours have recorded interesting happening both on local, state, national, and international scene. Below are the top news.

Agwu Ukpai, the deputy chief of staff to Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, has died after a brief illness. Mr Ukpai died in the early hours of Tuesday, it was learnt. In a statement, Abia commissioner for information John Okiyi-Kalu announced Ukpai’s death, though the cause of death was not stated.

The Joint National Assembly Committee on Aviation has scored Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, high on the quality of work at the ongoing Anambra International Cargo Airport project. The joint committee, comprising of members of the aviation committee in the House of Representatives and the Senate, was in the state at the weekend on an oversight duty at the project site, where Obiano, in the company of his wife, took them round.

Against the trending news on social media, Imo State monarch Obi of Obinugwu, Eze Cletus Ilomuanya has come out to say that he never had a clash with Senator Rochas Okorocha, adding that they only joked in the aircraft. Eze Ilomuanya who fought for the Eze Imo stool throughout Okorocha’s eight years tenure as governor of Imo State was said to have threatened to attack Okorocha with his staff, something he said is untrue.

The tendency of another cabinet shake-up in the Imo State executive council coming up has been noticed, with the governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma said to be gearing up for the action. Since he constituted his Exco by appointing Commissioners, Special Advisers and other categories of appointees, Uzodinma last week ruffled feathers when he appointed new Commissioners used to either create new ministries or change others on seat.

The desire of many youths to add their voices to the politics and policy-making aspects of the country has been given a big boost.  On March 29, 2021, the Institute for Governance and Economic Transformation (IGET), a public policy think tank headed by Professor Kingsley Moghalu, a former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Deputy Governor and presidential candidate of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, through a press release, announced a summit. This summit would be held on Saturday, April 10, at 2 pm, virtually.
