Anambra 2021: PDP Extends Sale of N21million Forms

Ahead of the Primary election for the November election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has extended the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the Anambra State governorship election.

National Organising Secretary, retired Col. Austin Akobundu, made this known in a statement on Wednesday.

The forms were sold at N21million – N1million for expression of interest and N20million for nomination form.

The closing date for the sale was moved from Wednesday, March 31 to Wednesday, April 7. The date for the submission has also been extended to Saturday, April 10.

More than ten aspirants, including three females, have obtained forms ahead of the primary election.

They are Sen. Uche Ekwunife (PDP – Anambra), Chidi Onyemelukwe, daughter of ex-Vice President Alex Ekwueme, and Genevieve Ekwochi –

Others are Obiora Okonkwo, Chris Azubogu, Winston Ude, Valentine Ozigbo, Godwin Ezeemo, Godwin Maduka, Ifedi Okwenna, Ugochukwu Uba, Tony Nwoye and Walter Okeke.

Meanwhile, the Frontline Aspirant in the November 6th Governorship Election and Former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria Prof. Charles Soludo was attacked by unknown gunmen in his home town in Isuofia

This attack took place while he was having an interaction with Isuofia youths at the town’s Civic Centre, This attack left two policemen who are suspected to be security details to the Aspirant Dead.

There is a serious stampede now in Afuzo area of Isuofia which is in Aguata LGA of Anambra state. Eye witnesses told newsmen that two of Soludo’s security details were killed. Unconfirmed reports also have it that the state Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne, was taken away.

Soludo, who is from Isuofia and a leading aspirant in the November 6 governorship election in the state, is said to be safe. As at press time, his whereabouts remain unknown.
