Ebonyi Massacre: Miyetti Allah Reacts Over Herdsmen Killing

After the killings of innocent villages in a community in Ebonyi State were killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has called for the punishment of those behind the killings in Ebonyi State.

MACBAN made the call while condemning the recent killings of residents of some communities in Ebonyi by hoodlums.

The Southeast Zonal Chairman of MACBAN, Alhaji Gidado Siddiki spoke in a chat with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu State, on Tuesday.

Siddiki urged security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into unraveling and punishing those behind the killings.

“We are not happy with this incident. This is heartbreaking and our hearts bleed. We condole with the families of the deceased and the state government.

“As an association, we appeal to the security agencies not to leave any stone unturned in unraveling the circumstances behind the killing and the identity of the killers,” he said.

Recall we reported Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, condemned the attack on some villages in Ishielu Local Government Area by suspected herdsmen.

The killings took place Monday night in Nkalaha, Obegu, Amazu, Nkalagu and Umuhuali autonomous communities.

At least, 15 persons were reportedly killed during the attack, allegedly carried out by herders.

Newsmen reports that Umahi visited the communities on Tuesday to commiserate with the bereaved families.

The governor charged all the security agencies to go after the perpetrators in order to bring them to justice.

“We feel so sad that this kind of thing should happen in Ebonyi, we feel so worried for our country Nigeria and we are short of words.

“We condemn this attack because it is capable of causing very serious killings, if allowed to continue this way,” he said.
