The Member Representing Nnewi Nnewi in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor, has urged Christian faithfuls to reflect deeply on the life and times of Jesus Christ and the sacrifices he made to save mankind.

The Lawmaker made the call on Sunday in a goodwill message commemorating the Easter celebration.

He noted that Jesus Christ made the supreme sacrifice by leaving his comfort in heaven to redeem and reconcile us with our Creator.

According to him, the passion and death of Jesus underscores the love he had for us and his willingness to sacrifice himself for our liberation.

The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Anambra 2021 Governorship Aspirant urged Christians to emulate the life of peace, humility, love, and sacrifice the Saviour lived during his earthly ministry.

“Today, as we celebrate Easter to mark the resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ, let us pause and reflect on our individual and collective roles towards promoting and sustaining that foundation of sacrifice, love and harmony.

He called on Christians and adherents of other faiths to rededicate their lives to the virtues of love, reconciliation, forgiveness and sacrifice which is necessary for our personal growth and community development.

“I appeal that we rise and make the necessary sacrifices for the growth and development of our communities and state, we should all eschew bitterness, show love to one another because the absence of love breeds destruction.

“As we celebrate this victory, I pray that we experience the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ in our different endeavours. Let us continue to pray for the progress of Nnewi and Anambra State.
