No Nigerian Must Be In Prison – Kanu Orders

Nnamdi Kanu, The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra has declared and said that no Nigerian deserves to be in the country’s prisons because Nigeria in itself is enough of prison.

The IPOB leader based his stance on the treatment received by some groups whom he said get freed and rehabilitated after they are arrested by authorities.

He said on Twitter, “If Miyetti Allah terror herdsmen & other murderous #Fulani groups, including Boko Haram insurgents, can be arrested, freed and rehabilitated by this neo-colonial Fulanised @NGRPresident, then no single soul deserves to be in any prison in Nigeria. If you know you know! #UGM.”

Kanu’s post comes hours after news broke out that some gunmen on Monday broke into the Owerri Correctional Prison in Imo State and freed over 1,500 inmates.

ANAEDOONLINE learned that the gunmen also razed the Imo State Police Command headquarters including the vehicles parked on the premises.

Information reaching Anaedoonline.ng reveals that Imo State Police Headquarters and Prisons are currently on fire, as well setting over 1500 inmates free.

It was revealed that some unknown gunmen attacked the station at the wee hours of the night.

The attackers razed the Imo State Police Command headquarters situated in Owerri and burnt almost all the vehicles parked at the command headquarters.

The hoodlums freed all the suspects in almost all the cells at the State Criminal Investigation Department of the police command.

The gunmen operated from 1 am till 3 am on Tuesday.

They sang solidarity songs at the Government House roundabout for about 30 minutes before attacking the facilities, a security source confided in our correspondent.

On breaking into the prison facility with the aid of explosives and dynamite, the attackers told inmates, “Go home, Jesus has risen. You have no reason to be here.”

When contacted, the police spokesperson in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the attacks.

He, however, assured the people of the state that the security agencies were on top of the matter.
