The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has condemned the call for restructuring of Nigeria by Southeast Governors.

Anaedoonline.ng had earlier reported the Indigenous People of Biafra and Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra have been charged by the Southeast Governors’ Forum to give them six months to negotiate with the Federal Government their grievances.

The chairman of the forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, made this plea at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, on Thursday while featuring on the regular Ministerial Press Briefing organised by the Presidential Communications Team.

The governors decided in Asaba, Delta State capital while deliberating on how to curb the deteriorating security situation in their respective states and other parts of the country.

The IPOB leader in a post on his Twitter account on Friday said Nigeria needs secession, not restructuring.

According to him, restructuring may not end the bad governance that led to the call for separation.

“Do you want Nigeria restructured to the 1960 era that lasted only 6 years? Or to Aburi that drove you all mad enough to commit GENOCIDE?

“Will this your new #restructuring turn bad men into good men? It won’t. What Nigeria needs is dismemberment, not some dodgy restructuring”
