NOT AGAIN: Gunmen Fights Police Officers, Kill Four In Enugu

On Wednesday 26th may 2021, in Enugu State Four police officers have been killed by unknown gunmen. A police officer who confirmed the development noted that its the latest attack on security operatives in the region.

Daniel Ndukwe, The spokesman of the state police command, disclosed that the gunmen invaded the police station late on Tuesday. Ndukwe further stated that the armed men who open fire on the police station also set some parts of the building on fire.

He said, “Four of the operatives, who sustained severe gunshot injuries, were later confirmed dead in the hospital.”

Ndukwe added that some of the attackers were shot and injured but managed to escape, he called on residents to provide the police with information that would lead to the arrest of the armed men.

This is coming few hours after a police officer died after a hand grenade strapped on his belt accidentally detonated on Tuesday.

“The command is mourning the inspector who died in this unfortunate incident,” the spokesperson of the Ebonyi State police command, Loveth Odah, told AFP.
