LATEST: Again, Uzodinma Reveals Those Behind Insecurity In Nigeria

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has alleged that opposition politicians and other disgruntled personalities are behind the rising insecurity in the country.

Speaking with State House Correspondents after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday, Uzodinma urged the federal government to go after those trying to destroy the country.

The governor added that opposition members and other disgruntled Nigerians are encouraging insecurity across the country.

Uzodinma, however, noted that those who are destroying government property in the South East must be ready to face the consequences.

On the current security situation in his state, the governor called on stakeholders, including traditional rulers, religious leaders, and politicians to help restore peace to the state.

Uzodimma added that he alone cannot guarantee security in the crisis-ridden state, saying that politicians who fail to speak out against the activities of trouble makers have questions to answer.

He said if they had been speaking out in condemnation of the unwholesome activities of those destabilising the country, things would have been different.
