NBA Nnewi Congratulates Afam Osigwe On Achieving Life Bencher Status

The Executive Committee and the entire members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Nnewi Branch, have announced their receipt, with immense joy, the news of the appointment of Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN as a Life Bencher.

A bencher is part of an elite professional group who deal with admissions into law schools, regulating conduct in the school, and generally overseeing the practice of the legal profession in Nigeria. A life bencher serves in the Body of Benchers forever.

The status of life bencher is regarded by many as the highest distinction a lawyer can achieve professionally.

Afam Osigwe is a Senior Partner, Law Forte (Legal Practitioners, Arbitrators, Corporate Consultants and Notariies) and a well-respected son of Nnewi.

In a statement signed by the Chairman Kingsley Awuka Esq. and released to the media on the 27th of July, 2021, the group ointed out that the appointment was deserving of a man who has earned same, a million times over.

“To dear Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN, we say, you really knocked it out of the park, yet not surprisingly, given your drive.

“You deserve praise, for today and every day you have spent in a staunch work ethic and deep dedication to the Legal Profession.

They closed the release with: “Congratulations for a well-deserved appointment!”

Osigwe who used to be the Secretary-General of Nigeria Bar Association is one of the eight people appointed life benchers this circle.

The others include the Chief Judge of Bauchi State, Hon. Justice Rabi Umar, Chief Judge of Kano State, Hon Justice Nura S. Umar, Presiding Justice, Court of Appeal Enugu, Hon Justice Ahmad Belgore, Hon. Attorney General, Enugu State, Chief Miletus Eze and Attorney General Katsina State, Ahmed Usman El- Marzuq, Esq.
