Sit-At-Home Order Turns Bloody In Nnewi, Two Shot Dead (Video)

Two persons have been shot in an alleged confrontation between the Army and suspected members of IPOB in Nnewi today, 9th August, 2021.

Although details are still sketchy, another report has that the two persons who died during the bloody confrontation that happened at Izuchukwu Junction area of Roundabout in Nnewi Industrial Area, were a leader of Eastern Security Network (ESN) and a commercial motorcyclist. Another account has that the two persons killed were a commercial motorcyclist and an ordinary member of IPOB.

According to an eyewitness account, the problem started at about 7 am in the morning when youths believed to be members of IPOB came out to enforce the sit-at-home order and in the process blocked major roads.

In reaction, some soldiers came to clear the items used to block the roads leading to an altercation between them and IPOB members.
