“Why I Speak Up for Women” – Singer Simi

Sensational Nigerian singer, Simi has revealed why she has been using her voice and platform to speak up for women lately.

This comes after a man dragged her for always involving men in her posts when motivating women after she advised women to always hype themselves.

The mum of one had taken to her Instastories to question why women are said to be cocky when they praise themselves, but a man is called “Chairman” or “boss” when he hypes himself.

After the man lambasted her, Simi fired back at him on her Instastories. See the exchange below,

To clear the air about her stance, the singer shared a post moments later explaining why she has been speaking up for women, despite receiving backlash from netizens.

According to her, she will continue to speak up for women’s rights because the majority of women are oppressed by men. She added that any man who feels attacked by her post is guilty of oppressing women and should check himself.

In a lengthy post she shared on her Instastories, she wrote,

“Why are you always talking women this woman that, Simi’s own is too much”. Let me give you perspective. When we complain about Nigeria and the government tells us to shut up, we don’t shut up. We can’t afford to. Because the people are still oppressed. It doesn’t mean all Nigerians are suffering, but the majority are. It’s the same for women we continue to speak because the majority of women are still oppressed.

Some women have it pretty good. I know I have it much better than most women. BUT I’M THE MINORITY! And even at that, I know men with the same skillset as me and other women have it better. It’s not a fight it’s just true.

When Nigerians are complaining and using developed countries as examples we don’t expect Canadians to come and say ‘why are Nigerians always complaining their own is too much’

Why are you so annoyed? If you are a man and don’t do these things then I’m not talking to you! Why are you angry?

‘I Will Delete You’ – Singer Simi Threatens Her Mother

When they say Black Lives Matter it doesn’t mean White Lives don’t. Respect women don’t mean disrespect men.

Treat women better doesn’t mean treat men worse’.Because the women in your compound or your sisters are better off doesn’t mean everyone is.

The fact that you got food on your table doesn’t mean everyone is eating ffs. Speaking for women is not automatically attacking men. If you feel attacked it’s because you are guilty. it’s not rocket science.

I don’t want men to have less respect or value. I WANT WOMEN TO HAVE MORE!

And you should search yourself especially if you are not on the same side as me especially if you are a woman. Said what I said and I go still talk am again.”
