Prince Ayabazu honoured at Anambra@30

Anambra State, as it is today, is 30 years old. The State was created from the Old Anambra State in August 1991. General Murtala Muhammed created Old Anambra in 1975 from the East Central State. In 1991, General Ibrahim Babangida broke the Old Anambra State into Anambra and Enugu States.

Now, as part of the activities outlined by the Anambra State Government to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the State, the Ministry of Basic Education has listed to honor distinguished individuals of the State that has immensely supported the development and growth of education in the State.

Within the last few years, Anambra State has taken a pride of place among other states in the federation especially in the education sector. The state has won many National and global awards and all these wouldn’t have been possible without the support of some stakeholders and corporate organizations who have contributed immensely to these successes through many interventions such as scholarships, infrastructural developments, exhibitions and competitions, STEM projects among others.

Therefore as part of activities to celebrate Anambra@30, the State Government through the Ministry of Basic Education will on Thursday, September 3 2021 honour the distinguished individuals that has contributed immensely to the development and growth of Education in the State.

Among those set out for these recognitions includes Prof. Charles Soludo APGA gubernatorial candidate for Anambra 2021, Chief Sir (Dr) Emeka Offor, Prince Emeka Ayabazu, Senator Dr. Victor Umeh, Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo, Prince Obi Orizu, Pat Ubajaka among others.

Prince Emeka Ayabazu is being recognized for taking over the sponsorship of Educational Quiz Competition in Anambra State. He has been the sole sponsor of Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition for Secondary Schools in Anambra State since 2008 till date.

Ayabazu, a Lagos-based businessman from Nnewi is the CEO of I.A. Mesco Ventures Ltd and Mesco Green Farms Nig Ltd.
