Yoruba Nation Agitators, Pro-Buhari Supporters Clash In New York

Yoruba Nation agitators and other self-determination groups on Friday protested at the United Nations headquarters in New York, the United States.

Anaedoonline.ng reports that the agitators had announced their plan to protest as President Muhammadu Buhari addressed the UN General Assembly today.

As the protesters prepare to move to the Nigerian embassy, a pro-Buhari group called OneNation group staged a counter-protest opposite the UN headquarters.

The agitators held placards with various inscriptions such as “UN do something, your silence is killing us’, and ‘help Nigeria to save lives’ among others.

On their part, the OneNigeria group held placards showing different developmental strides of the Buhari government.

Recall that the leader of the Yoruba Nation agitators, Prof. Banji Akintoye, had accused the Muhammdu Buhari government of paying people to organise a counter-protest at the UN Headquarters.

Akintoye alleged that the Federal Government had paid some people in the United States to stage a Pro-Buhari protest.

In a statement on Thursday by the spokesman of the Nigerian Indigenous Nationalities Alliance for Self-Determination (NINAS), Maxwell Adeleye, each pro-Buhari protester was paid $500.

Akintoye stated that the grand finale of the “Million-Man Freedom March” will hold and all the crimes against humanity being aided by the Buhari led government would be exposed.

He asserted that the agitators would not be intimidated by the antics of the Buhari government to call off the protest tomorrow.
