Anambra 2021: IPOB Blasts Andy Uba Over Claim of Meeting Its Leadership

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB has distanced itself from a report claiming that it held a meeting with the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Andy Uba, ahead of the gubernatorial election in Anambra State on November 6.

An online platform in its report two days ago had claimed that the APC candidate met with members of the group over the forthcoming election.

The spokesman of IPOB, Emma Powerful, however, denied the report in a statement titled, “We didn’t have any discussion with Andy Uba on Anambra Election.”

The group warned him against using it’s name for cheap popularity ahead of the governorship election in Anambra State.

IPOB said, “The attention of the Indigenous People of Biafra has been drawn to the laughable and disgraceful statement credited to the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Anambra election, Andy Uba, that he met with IPOB members to discuss the forthcoming governorship poll.

“We, therefore, want to make it categorically clear that Andy Uba met nobody in IPOB. IPOB has no interest in the zoo (Nigeria) election, and could not have met with Andy Uba or anybody or politician for that matter to discuss anything about the election.

“Andy Uba and his likes should leave IPOB out of their politics. Again, Andy Uba could not have possibly accessed the leadership of IPOB. He should therefore stop using IPOB to get cheap popularity.”

The group at different times have threatened that election will not be held in the region unless its Biafra agitation is actualized.
