On the 22nd of October, 2021 a publication stating that Labour Party adopted Valentine Ozigbo PDP gubernatorial flagbearer made rounds on social media and other platforms. The officials of the Labour Party have come out in full force to deny such a move.
The party whose official candidate in the coming November 6th Election in Anambra State is Chief Obiora Agbasimelo has issued an official statement vehemently refuting all claims or connections to the publication.

The attention of Labour Party (LP), our National Chairman, the National Working Committee ( NWC), the Candidate of Labour Party for the November 6th Election in Anambra State Chief Obiora Agbasimelo, the National Organizing Secretary of our great Party, the Campaign Council and the Campaign Organization have been drawn to a badly written, false, dirty, pedestrian and irrelevant publication in the Print and Social Media captioned; ” ANAMBRA 2021: LABOUR PARTY MOVES TO ADOPT PDP’s CANDIDATE OZIGBO” Dated October 22, 2021, written by one Frank Ikpefan

Labour Party (LP) wishes to react as follows:
1) Labour Party (LP) hereby declares the contents of the publication as false, misleading, baseless, and a plot by meddlesome interlopers to discredit, disparage, and de-market Labour Party, its Candidate Chief Obiora Agbasimelo. This attempt to derail the focused Campaign Organization whose work and impact with the masses is making the opposition very jittery because of the massive followership of the Labour Party in Anambra State has failed woefully.
2) Truth is verifiable. The authentic list of National Working Committee (NWC) members of the Labour Party is with INEC. The name of Labour Party’s Candidate for the November 6th,2021 Governorship Election in Anambra State Chief Obiora Agbasimelo is with INEC. Anyone may wish to visit the INEC portal of Political Parties and other details to verify these facts. The age of fraudulent manipulation of records and the list of who is what in any Political Party is in the past and gone forever.
3) One Comrade Joseph Ndirang purported to be the Acting National Secretary of Labour Party. This must be a hallucination or a self-given title. No Comrade Joseph Ndirang or Mr. Joseph Ndirang or anyone else with a similar name holds such position in Labour Party howsoever as a search of INEC records will reveal. However, anyone dealing with him and his cohorts for or on behalf of the Labour Party does so at his or her own risk and peril.
4) Any purported meeting by one Najeem Yasin held anywhere at any time is unknown and unauthorized by Labour Party and therefore irrelevant and baseless. No one should be deceived into paying even passing attention to the naked dance of shame by meddlesome interlopers trying to market any merchandise they do not have for cheap cash.
5) Labour Party and its flagbearer Chief Obiora Agbasimelo and the PDP Candidate Chief Valentine Ozigbo are vying for the same seat in the same Election. The two Candidates have never met one-on-one or through any authentic proxies for any reason whatsoever as both are currently engaged in last-minute Campaign activities to win the Election for themselves and their parties.

Finally, this Press Release became necessary for official record purposes and to put to rest the activities of meddlesome Interlopers and detractors trying to attract undeserving public attention perhaps for pecuniary reasons or for reasons best known to them.
Labour Party and its flagbearer, the Campaign Council, and the Campaign Organization remain focused and continue to work very hard to win the Governorship Election of Anambra State come November 6th, 2021. Labour Party hereby reserves all its Legal Rights at Law as a duly Registered Political Party in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
