The Academic Staff Union of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COO), Igbaraim has vowed never to join on any strike embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Nigeria Universities (ASUU).
Rising from a meeting yesterday, at the University premises, the ASUU branch of the University resolved to not join any strike, whether local or national, nothing that the Union has no issues with the university management and their salaries are being paid as at when due.

According to the Chairman of the Union, Professor Osita Chiaghanam, the academic staff union of the university has no reason to work against the school management, especially under the current Vice-Chancellor, Professor Greg Nwakoby who have changed the fortunes of the University.
He revealed that ASUU strikes always favor only the federal universities, and if embarked upon, will affect the academic calendar of the institution.
Warning those engineering crisis in the university to desist from such act, Prof. Osita assured the academic staff of Chukwuemaka Odumegwu Ojukwu University of improved welfare, appealing to them for continuous support.
