President Buhari Vows to Uphold Peace and Democracy at AU Meeting

Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has vowed to remain committed to promoting peace, progress and democratic tenets within and outside Africa at the ongoing African Union meeting in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.

President Buhari, in  a sideline chat with the Prime Minister of Palestine, Mohammad Shtayyeh, stated this and emphasised that Nigeria remains resolute in supporting development, democracy, respect for human rights, justice, fairness, peace and progress both within andoutside the continent.

Northern Elites Promoting Poverty, Says Moghalu

The Palestinian Head of Government, in his remark, expressed concern over what he observed as deteriorating, his country’s peaceful relationship with Israel and prayed for his Nigerian counterpart to remain healthy and continually contribute his wisdom and experience to peace-building.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Buhari, Femi Adesina.
