Smart Adeyemi, a member representing Kogi West Senatorial district, has accused persons with vested interests in the All Progressives Congress of fomenting a crisis inside the party.
President Muhammadu Buhari, according to Adeyemi, failed to notify him and his colleagues that the party’s Caretaker Chairman, Mai Mala Buni, had been fired.
Buni was allegedly fired for a plot to postpone the party’s National Convention, which was scheduled for March 26.

Buni transferred authority to the Governor of Niger State, Sani Bello, owing to a medical travel to Dubai, Adeyemi stated on Channels Tv on Thursday.
The lawmaker said, “There was a letter written by Mai Mala Buni saying that he was travelling. And in that letter, he did transmit power to the Governor of Niger State.
“As far as the Senate is concerned, we are not aware that Mr. President handed the interim Chairman a marching order to resign his job.”
Recall that Nasir El-Rufai, the Governor of Kaduna State, announced on Channels Tv that the APC Caretaker Chairman, Buni, had been fired.

He went on to say that President Buhari made the choice to fire Buni with the backing of 19 governors elected on the party’s platform.
Buni, according to El-Rufai, would not be returning as the APC’s Caretaker Chairman when he returns from his vacation.
