Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Ighoho, a Yoruba nation agitator, has advocated for peace, claiming that the battle may be won without firing a shot.

Igboho, who was freed from incarceration in Benin Republic a few days ago, revealed this in a statement prepared by his lawyer, Yomi Alliyu, and made accessible to the press on Thursday.

According to the statement, Igboho, who urged his supporters to be calm, pledged not to give up the fight for self-determination, thanking those who fought tirelessly to secure his release.

Ignoho said that discussion, rather than combat, is a preferable way to attain self-determination, citing the continuing conflict in Ukraine and the bloodshed in areas of Southeast Asia as examples.

“Seeing what is going on in Ukraine and some regions of Nigeria’s Igboland, he continues to preach against war.” He urged everyone, especially his kinsmen at home and abroad, to engage in discussion in their desire for self-determination without aggravating Nigeria’s already precarious condition.

“He thinks that, as he used to say at rallies, their dream can be realized without firing a gunshot,” the statement stated.

The activist praised Chief Dele Momodu for being the only notable Yoruba who paid him a visit before his release from prison in Cotonou.
