Russia-Ukraine War: US Sends Strong Warning To China Over Assistance To China

According to CNN, a senior US source has stated that Russia has requested military support from China in Ukraine, including drones.

However, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan stated that China’s assistance for Russia is a “worry.”

“We’re also keeping a careful eye on China to see whether it provides any kind of assistance to Russia, whether it’s material or financial.” He stated, “It is a concern of ours.”

According to Sullivan, the US has warned China that it would not stand by and allow any country to compensate Russia for its economic losses as a result of the sanctions.

He said that China has been warned that there would be “absolute consequences” for “large-scale” efforts to give Russia a workaround to US sanctions.

“We will not allow that to go forward and allow there to be a lifeline to Russia from these economic sanctions from any country anywhere in the world,” he said.

And for this reason, Sullivan would be meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Yang Jiechi in Rome, Monday.
