ASUU Strike: Northern Students Attacks FG over Constant Industrial Action

According to the Coalition of 19 Northern States Students’ Progressive Forum, eliminating a country does not need the use of any weapon by any government.

Comrade Muhammad Abbas, the association’s chairman, revealed this at a public lecture and award ceremony in Dutse, Jigawa State’s capital.

He said that the country’s present difficulties are the result of the federal government’s bad handling of the education sector.

“You don’t need guns to destroy any country; just demolish its education sector, and the citizens will destroy everything,” he stated.

Nigerian students, according to Abbas, are tired of the Federal Government damaging the country’s future through the education sector.

“Nigerian students were at home for four months in 2018, over ten months in 2020, they also spent four weeks and presently ASUU added another eight weeks.

“We only need our schools to be open, we didn’t ask them to give us what they received when they are students,” he said.

Spokesperson of the students’ union, Comrade Muhammad Inuwa, however commended Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for his concerns about the plight of Nigerian Students and his ongoing efforts to facilitate fruitful discussion between Federal Government and ASUU.
