Gov Ortom Asks Buhari To Resign Immediately And Handover To Osinbajo

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has demanded that President Muhammadu Buhari resign immediately and give over power to his Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

At a news conference in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, the Governor stated that Buhari had failed to deliver on all of his election pledges.

Ortom acknowledged that making such a strong appeal for the presidency may lead to personal attacks and vendettas against him, but insisted that the truth must be communicated.

According to him, the Buhari-led administration has failed Nigerians totally, and “I want to call on President Muhammadu Buhari to recognize the truth that he has failed this nation and I want to advise him to honorably quit as President of Nigeria,” Ortom added.

“Yes, he may quit and give over control of the country’s affairs to his deputy. Otherwise, our country will perish,” he said.

He also expressed his displeasure that suspected Fulani herdsmen have continued to slaughter innocent Nigerians in his Local Government of Guma and other parts of Benue, with the government doing nothing to stop them.

“They can insult me, send EFCC to come after me. If they come here, I will take you (EFCC) to court again, and by the grace of God, defeat you like I defeated you before,” he said.
