Biafra Nations League (BNL) has said that in order to be considered seriously, Biafra must take over an area in Nigeria where its military has complete authority.
Princewill Richards, the BNL’s National Leader, stated in a statement on Thursday that a people seeking independence must have their own controlled territory and military, or they will not be regarded seriously.
He said that the BNL had practically complete control of marine activity in the Bakassi Peninsula, which is located at the Gulf of Guinea’s eastern edge.

He said that his organization does not lack people, claiming that they have a vast membership and sympathizers, including militias at sea ready to carry out their objectives.
“Are we still operating our leadership from within Nigeria, or are some of us running it from abroad?”
However, no organization has taken control of any land that we can declare is entirely under Biafran authority.
“Anyone who says we are not at war is blind, because there are killings all over the East, the worst being the attacks from Nigerian soldiers.
“If they attack us and we are able to repel them, we will fly our flags there as a victory symbol, and we will make sure our soldiers are ready to protect the country,” he asserted.

He berated the unknown gunmen in the South East who would attack security personnel and run into hiding, leaving the military to attack and burn down houses of innocent people.
According to him, the unknown gunmen should stop being cowards and face the military squarely to prevent them from going after villagers.
“We heard those gunmen are well equipped, why not stand after every operation and face the military officers who will be sent to come and burn down our homes, than after an attack, they run into hiding,” the BNL wondered.
