See Amount FG Said It Spent On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, 2nd Niger Bridge

According to the Federal Government, N310 billion was spent to complete the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, while N206 billion was spent to construct the Second Niger Bridge.

Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of Works and Housing, revealed this to State House Correspondents at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday.

The Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Expressway cost N797 billion to build, according to Fashola, while the three projects cost N1.3 trillion.

FG Reveals When Lagos-Ibadan railway Will Commence Operations

The Ministry of Works and the Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund were in charge of the three projects, according to the minister (PIDF).

Fashola stated that the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and the Second Niger Bridge will be completed in 2022, while the main carriageway of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano expressway will be completed in Q2 2023, with ancillary works to follow.

He said that the Second Niger Bridge, which was supposed to be finished in February but was postponed due to the COVID-19 lockdown and #EndSARS protests, is now 91% complete.

According to the minister, the Second Niger Bridge has directly employed 1,486 individuals while indirectly employing 8,110 people.
