World Cup Qualifiers Playoff: Why I Want Nigeria To Beat Ghana – Evra

Patrice Evra, a former France international and Manchester United defender, has stated why he wants Nigeria to qualify for the FIFA World Cup playoff versus Ghana.

The Super Eagles will face the Black Stars at 6 p.m. in Abuja in the return leg of the playoff, which concluded in a goalless draw in Kumasi last week Friday, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

In an interview with Arise News on Tuesday, Evra stated that the Super Eagles of Nigeria are the most interesting African team, and that he believes they will qualify for the World Cup.

On a visit to Nigeria, Evra remarked that he wants the Super Eagles to return to their rightful place and asked Nigerians to show their support for the team during the match.

“To answer your question on Nigeria and Ghana, I support both,” he stated. But when I was a youngster in Nigeria and people were playing video games, I used to watch J.J. Okocha, Kanu (Nnwako), and Rashidi Yekini. Nigeria is always the most interesting African team for me since I am old school.

“That is why the next generation (of players) bears such a heavy burden, since we want the Super Eagles to return to their rightful place.” So my prayers are for Ghana, but also for Nigeria as a whole!

“It was a difficult first leg, but Nigeria is playing at home, so they need all of your support, all of your love, and I believe Nigeria can achieve something.”
